From outdoor DJs in the afternoon to a buzzing basement filled with live music and dancing, this is a place to stop by during the MMW.

Film

Incorporated in the celebration of music are events dedicated to recognising film, particularly musicals. From electronic artists to laneway parties and acoustic performers, you can tick just about every musical category off the list on this safari. In just about every hidden location in Melbourne city, from Bennetts Lane Jazz Club to The Public Bar, your ears will be ringing with the sound of music delights all week.

Self-Made

Melbourne celebrates a variety of artists this week, including up and coming local performers. With talents plucked from across the city and showcased at their local venues, including Krimper Café and the Meat Market, this is a unique chance to see some inspiring local performers who will undoubtedly be big on the charts in the coming years.

Kids’ entertainment

As a family friendly city, the MMW takes into account the little tykes who are following their music loving parents across the city this week. On Sunday November 15, stop by Artplay through the day for some kiddie fun where they get the chance to learn some hands on DJ skills. That afternoon, the former Royal Women’s Hospital has activities including music and dance for kids of all ages.
