Making the Most of Miami

Making the Most of Miami

Vacationing in Miami

gives you a wide variety of things to do, from dining, the beach, shopping or nightlife, the choices are vast. However, Florida itself is a state about the size of England and offers a comprehensive choice of attractions that can only be reached by car.

What’s Within Reach?

Making the Most of Miami

Miami is within reasonable driving distance of the entertainment centre of Florida, Orlando. The well known attractions are Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld and much more. However, closer and a little less prone to queues are the Florida Keys. Caribbean in style and laid back, the Keys were a favourite of Ernest Hemingway, and you can visit the house he lived in. The separate island allows for a good amount of exploring, and also contains the southern most point of the continental United States. The dining there can meet any taste, from standard chain restaurants to silver service, a particular speciality is conch.

Choices, Choices

Similarly, there is also Kennedy Space Centre to the north of Miami. An interesting day out with lots of interactive displays and fascinating exhibits. It’s also close to Cocoa Beach, which is famous for its surfing conditions. You could also cross the state fairly quickly to go to the warmer waters of the Mexican Gulf, and up towards the metropolitan area of Tampa. Interest in yachts and boats will be rewarded by a trip to somewhere like Fort Myers, where yachts bob along in the harbour en masse.

Making the Most of Miami

Florida is not just theme parks and beaches, there is a wealth of things to see and do to satisfy any appetites. The most important thing is being able to get out and about, rather than just being ferried about in shuttle buses. Remember to get your US ESTA

before you plan your travel to the USA.

Anyhoo, I’m off to Tennessee and will be staying there for a couple of weeks before heading somewhere in South America. If you feel like spending your summer in a place close to nature, I also suggest you reserve your cabin now at this place I’m staying.
