Las Vegas is one of the world’s greatest cities and every year, millions of people from all over the world travel to ‘Sin City’ – either for business or pleasure. With tens of casinos, hundreds of bars and thousands of shops, there’s plenty for you to do in Vegas. Whether you’re a huge gambling man or prefer to take in some sporting events, there’s always something going on, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Here are some of the lesser known activities and venues to get involved in/visit during your time in Las Vegas!
Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage
For something a little out of the ordinary Vegas experience, the dolphin sanctuary provides a little peace and quiet on the main Strip. You can see a number of dolphins living in harmony with one another, as well as various other animals around the park. The setting is beautiful and you can see these animals are treated with care, in fact they even have plenty of play time throughout the day. If you’re animal-mad and want to see tiger cubs getting bottle-fed, dolphins playing with beach balls and much more, then get down to the Mirage!
In May, the arena will host one of the world’s biggest upcoming boxing fights as Amir Khan faces Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for the WBC middleweight championship. Many are expecting Canelo, who is 4/11 in Coral’s boxing bet markets, to win and for the fight to pan out in a similar fashion to George Groves’ dominant KO victory over Andrea di Luisa, but in which round? The only way to find out for sure and witness one of the best bouts is by getting a ticket to the event – there’s sure to be plenty of Britons out there supporting Khan.
A Cirque du Soleil show
There are various Cirque du Soleil shows across Las Vegas and all of them are fabulous in their own unique way. Perhaps you love water aerobics? Then ‘O’ at the Bellagio is the one for you. If you prefer an erotic, burlesque-cabaret show, then Zumanity at New York New York may be right up your street. With over twenty different shows to choose from, there’s something for everybody. If nothing else, these shows are fantastic for getting the crowd involved and provide a truly wonderful evening away from the casino floor.
