What will you do on your dream holiday if you had the finances?

If you’re anything like me, you love to travel. There’s something wondrous about packing up a bag, heading to the airport, and jet-setting across the sunset to experience first-hand all of the sights, sounds, and tastes this world has to offer. I’ve read once that to be truly human is to be constantly exploring. It’s quite a beautiful sentiment.

Unfortunately, sometimes it’s not that simple. If you love to travel, chances are you probably wish you could travel more than your budget might allow at the moment. Unless you happen to be an unemployed millionaire who happens to own a private jet. But that’s probably not the case. Anyway, just because you think you can’t afford to get out there and see the sights doesn’t mean it’s true. You may have just been looking in the wrong places.

How would you like to experience the New York City skyline from the vantage point of an eagle? Or visit the dramatic and awe-inspiring Khao Yai park of Bangkok? Well these places may be closer than you think. The key to traveling really is traveling on a budget. It’s an important skill to develop for all aspiring explorers and cosmopolitans, since again, you probably still aren’t a millionaire.

Recently, I’ve wanted to take a trip to Barcelona. I don’t know why I suddenly felt that urge – maybe listening to Freddy Mercury’s strange yet somehow enticing post-Queen opera stint inspired me – but either way, I knew I had to find a way to get there. And most importantly, it had to be a cost effective way of getting there.

After searching the Internet for any signs of hope, I happened upon a post entitled “What will you do on your dream holiday?”

And just like that, my search was over. Not only did it recommend the best place to eat in the entire country of Barcelona, but it even gave me a few cost-efficient ideas for next year. I’ll be setting off for my dream vacation later this week. Where will yours take you?
